Joy's Horses

Joy Knowles has a passion for horses. Rob and Lisa were very eager to meet her newest addition, Rosie. Rob was in his element as he took a ride on both Rosie and Tio. The sun was starting to set and the breeze was rather chilly, but just being around the horses was the perfect ending to our Christmas vacation in Texas!

Buddies

From the time they were little babies, Mitchell predicted that his little brother, Quinn, and Ben would be buddies. It's true! They are great friends and just love to hug and kiss each other. The hugging is cute, but hopefully they'll outgrow the kissing... at least Rob hopes so!

Papa's Tractor

We really enjoyed staying with Papa and Grandma Melba in Abilene, TX. Ben especially enjoyed his ride on Papa's tractor around the mesquite trees and cactus. At any given moment, Ben will suddenly start to tell eveyone about his tractor ride! Rob and Ben did their own exploring on the property. They saw deer, a hawk, and a whole tree full of wild turkey!

Ropin' Fun!

December 25th found us out at the Ward Ranch in Guthrie, OK. Benjamin was given his very own lariat. When he starts to swing it... look out! He got a few lessons from Charley and Alicia, and then proceded to "rope" a hobby horse!

Winter Gear

All dressed up in Dad's cold weather gear. Which way to the snow?! After waiting for weeks, it finally started to snow in late December. We got over three feet of snow in the span of two weeks. Ben keeps wanting to go out to the swingset to swing. We tell him that he can swing if he can make it through the 3-4 foot pile that lines our sidewalk in the front yard. He sticks a foot into it, but that's as far as he gets!

Summer Memories

We spend the winter just dreaming about summer. Memorial Day Weekend is the official start of our camping and fishing fun! Ben loves to make 'Smores with his special buddy, Dwight. In late September, Dwight left for a years' deployment in Iraq. A few days after he left, we were saying prayers with Ben and totally unprompted he said,"Dwight, keep safe, get on er-plane, come home soon." Out of the mouths of babes! This has been a part of his nightly prayers ever since!
