Snow Buddies

The snow was knee deep in places which made for hard walking. However, Ben and his buddy, Quinn were not deterred. They set about making snow angels, sliding in their snowsuits, and playing hard all day long. The noisy machines, and the bumpy trails through the trees didn't keep Ben from falling asleep on the ride back. He was sound asleep before we'd hardly left camp! Just try driving a snow machine in those conditions with a sacked out little boy laying on your arm!

Extreme Sledding!

We arrived at our destination after 45 minutes of riding through snow laden forests and across frozen lakes. Okay, there was some over-flow, which was un-nerving, but it only made you hit the throttle and go faster! Ben rode with mom, and he was a real trouper! He liked going fast, but he also enjoyed the slower pace through the trees.

The real fun for Ben started after we arrived at camp. There was a huge sledding hill just begging for riders! I lost track of how many times Ben made the trip down hill. He was fearless! If there wasn't a snow-tube available, he just sat down and slid in his snowsuit! Faith picked the sledders up at the bottom on her snow machine and brought them back up to the top. Some of the big kids, (aka: adults) decided to try their luck jumping off of the top balcony of the "Hilton". Thankfully, the snow was plentiful and DEEP!

Snow Machining Fun!

On the last Saturday in January, twelve adults and five kids set out for a day of snow machining and sledding at our congregation's Midnight Sun Bible Camp on Lynx Lake. The weather was perfect, not too cold, which was great for the little ones.
With the start up of all twelve machines, Ben was a bit scared. I told him that it was just like Lightning McQueen, his race car hero revving up his engine before a big race. As you can see, he was just fine with that and raring to go!
